Inducted in 2006

Starting out as a musician and musical director on shows such as Singalong Jubilee, Brian Ahern went on to become one of the most influential producers in country music.

Ahern started his musical career in his hometown of Halifax, where he played guitar in three bands, regularly performing on Canadian network television.

Ahern has produced over 13 of Anne Murray’s albums, including the legendary Snowbird and eleven albums for Emmylou Harris, to whom he was married from 1977-1984, including Pieces of the Sky, Elite Hotel and Evangeline.

Creator of the famous Enactron Truck Recording Studio, Ahern now resides in the U.S were he has worked with such artists as Johnny Cash, Ronnie Hawkins and George Jones. He currently works under his production company entitled baaMMusic. It would be fair to say that it is almost impossible to hear any country music recorded in the last 15 years without recognizing elements of Ahern’s vision and influence.
